Led by Icelandic musician Hákon Aðalsteinsson, who has also played guitar in The Brian Jonestown Massacre for five years, and previously played with Singapore Sling and Tess Parks. THE THIRD SOUND are a Berlin based band that have been a firm fixture on the European psych underground for over ten years.
Dealing in a hypnotic blend of neo-psychedelia, post-punk and new wave, their sixth full length studio album is due for release in May 2024 on Fuzz Club Records. Following 2021’s highly acclaimed and sold out ‘First Light’, 2018’s ‘All Tomorrow’s Shadows’, 2016’s ‘Gospels of Degeneration’, 2013’s ‘The Third Sound of Destruction and Creation’ and their 2011 self-titled debut which was released on Anton Newcombe’s A Recordings. With Hakon Aðalsteinsson leading the group on vocals and guitar, the rest of the band is currently comprised of Robin Hughes (Guitar / Organ), and Frankie Broek (Drums).
With a number of European and UK tours in tow, the band have previously shared the stage with the likes of the Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Warlocks, Singapore Sling, Crocodiles, Clinic, Tess Parks and more.

DATA ANIMAL is the second signing to Oliver Ackermann’s (A Place To Bury Strangers, Death By Audio) newly formed label, Dedstrange. Their over-the-top, endangered sound is a concoction of NYC’s No Wave legends Suicide being dragged across the floor by Tokyo noise provocateurs Merzbow attending a Dead C benefit gig in rural New Zealand.
Founded between Berlin and New Zealand in the midst of a global pandemic, the group is headed up by Mitchell O’Sullivan. With growing notoriety for their blistering live show and highly regarded debut album ‚Future Primitive‘ , Data Animal is the Techno/Rock n’ Roll group every replicant and freak worldwide has been waiting for.
