Heute erscheint das zweite Album der britisch-japanischen Produzentin MAYA JANE COLES. Die Musikerin zeichnet neben den 24 (!) Tracks von Take Flight auch für das Artwork des Albums verantwortlich. Für unsere Cover-Art-Reihe kommentiert sie:
Art possibly impacts my music more than music necessarily impacting my art I think. Or I guess it goes both ways but a lot of visual stuff influences my music. I absorb everything I see/hear and translate it into music which is why I love working in so many different genres, whereas my art is a lot more particular I think. Both have my own distinct style though and I guess ultimately they both interlink a lot now that I do my own tour visuals and artwork for my releases.
Take Flight schließt an die EP Won’t Let You Down an, die im April erschienen war. Deren trippiger Club-Hit „Cherry Bomb“ ist auch hier enthalten. Auf dem ausgesprochen spannungsreichen Album sind unter anderem WENDY RAE FOWLER und RACHEL BUTT als Gastsängerinnen zu hören.
