Heute erscheint mit Uncommon Weather das dritte Album von THE REDS, PINKS AND PURPLES – dem aktuellen Moniker von GLENN DONALDSON, der einen oder dem anderen vielleicht noch bekannt von seiner Zeit mit THE ART MUSEUMS. Auch für seine jüngste LP hat Donaldson das Cover-Artwork selbst fotografiert – es schließt direkt an das von You Might Be Happy Some Day aus dem vergangenen Herbst an (siehe unten). Für Popmonitor hat er dazu exklusiv notiert:

I’m practicing a kind of blatant localism: pictures of pastel row houses minutes from my door, songs about mundane local dramas, and the ones in my head. I write many of my songs humming to myself on walks, and I started taking photos of things that caught my eye. It was natural to turn them into graphics. There was a San Francisco area photorealist artist named Robert Bechtle who painted scenes of everyday life in the same neighborhoods. He may have been an unconscious influence.
