“Second Chance” is a lysergic-dappled tale of redemption from Violet Fields.
Last November, Berlin-based quartet Violet Fields emerged as contenders via their debut EP „Blooms“. Their brand of carefully-crafted garage-indie throws back to halcyon days when Britpop commanded the airwaves, and pushes forward into self-assured new territory.
Their single “Second Chance” is a textbook case in point. Recorded in Berlin by local producer Harald Noiges, it distills Violet Fields‘ psych-tinged M.O. down to four minutes. Marrying Joe Chant and Coco Ramona’s dual vocals with a warm mood of fuzz, organ and full-blown guitar worship, it’s an anthem revolving around redemption that underscores Violet Fields’ rep as a band breaking new ground within the realms of garage-indie.
Sealing the deal is Christoph Voy’s video accompaniment, comprising footage from the band’s recent European and UK tour.
